A Little Learning Aint Never Hurt Nobody

Hello All,
My dear friend Cookie advised me that I need to be more bloggie, so I'm here to blog away. It's been quite a while since I have blogged, so now it's time for an update. However, instead of a long winded "this experience begat that thing which lead to this thing," I'm just going to share with you some things that I have learned or have been reaffirmed over the past few months.

1.I AM A PARENT.
Now I know many of you are thinking to yourselves "Isn't that the whole bloody point of this damn rag you call words?" Well, allow me to explain. You see, during the holidays my parent's took the kids from Christmas Eve to New Years Day, as they were off I was not. This allowed me plenty of time to work and do things I might not otherwise get to do were they home. I got to visit with some old friends, see some movies (don't talk to me if you haven't seen "I Am Legend") and the like. I even did a touch of drinking, but not enough to make me regret it. But it was funny, that when I got home at night it was almost too quiet.
You see, for the last few months I've gotten into the cycle of coming home, greeting the children, cooking for them, spending time with them, and making them go to bed. It's a nightly routine that we have down, and it's not likely to change. I missed the noise. I missed the millions of questions that get asked over and over. I missed the fighting and the tattletales. It was only for a little over a week, but I felt rather lost without them.

2. I COULD BE A ROCK STAR
I don't own an Xbox 360 or have Guitar Hero for the Wii, but my neighbors do and I tend to take advantage of it. Recently they bought the game Rock Band, and it is awesome. I'm the bass player, and I'm pretty good. As a matter of fact, I don't seem to do bad on any of them but drums. Drums suck and I don't like playing them.
An unfortunate side effect of playing this game, however, is this: I can't hear the actual songs on the radio without hearing the clicks and bangs from our living room bands. Yes, i am in many bands now, as my unique style and sultry rhythms are in high demand. Come see me play with "Pancake Deth", "Stir Fry Captains" or "Minions of Gir". When I break off on my own, "Visible Panty Lines" will take over the world.

Well, that is all the knowledge I have to bestow now. Next time it will be more family-ish. That will be soon. Hope to see you then.
